In 2015 there was a lot going on for me at Powder Butterfly. Our products have made it to the high street. I have designed and made three awards for NCJ Media, had a small corporate gift commission and designed a new flying angels collection.
On top of all of this we received a very exciting commission to produce a corproate gift for a recent event in London. Newcastle University have opened a new campus in London. Details of which can be found here.
I was approached by Newcastle University to produce a fine bone china mug with my London design, the brief was also to include elements of the Newcastle University Campus within the artwork.
I made the suggestion that this would look stunning if it was produced in a gold glaze. The artwork was relatively straight forward to produce. The proof, to demonstrate the shine that the gold would have, was a little bit more complex. All I can say is thank goodness for YouTube!! You can see the results of my attempt to demonstrate the gold shine above.
They loved the artwork so much that they decided to use it on their programme for the event and their brochure as well, which was fantastic!!
The brochure above was designed by Jon Garside
Melanie Reed Senior PR and Events Manager said ‘Corinne’s design created a strong visual interpretation through which to convey the connection between Newcastle University’s main campus and our new London campus and it enabled us to achieve a consistent look and feel across the publicity materials produced for the formal launch of NU London, which I am sure added to the success of the event.’
I am also proud to say that my manufacturer is based in Stoke on Trent, the land of Wedgewood. Where possible I always try and use UK manuafcturers to produce my prodcuts. And it was great to have the opportunity to showcase what beautiful quality is achievable in the UK.
300 mugs were produced for this event with presentation boxes. This is an ideal way to get your message out there to your event attendees. It is also cost effective. Get in otuch with us today for a full quotation.
